Welcome To Craik, SK and District
effective January 15, 2010!
The town of Craik has been placed under a "boil water advisory" effective January 15, 2010 until further notice! Due to system depressurization at the new water plant, the town water reservoirs became very low. The situation has been corrected but the boil water advisory has been put in place as a precautionary measure for your protection. We will advise the community when the advisory has been lifted.
The town council, administrator and foreman took quick action in the late night hours when it was discovered that the reservoirs were low. Residents were called and were asked to help out by phoning their neighbors with the advisory warning. Work began quickly at the water plant and everything was up and running as normal.
Again, we will let all residents know when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
Last Mountain Rail: Open for Business!
A brand new short line railway has begun operation between Davidson and Regina. Along with communities and R.M.s along the rail line, including the Town of Craik, Last Mountain Rail has re-opened the rail line between Davidson and Regina and has started moving grain in producers cars and will expand to move any and everything in the future. The rail line has been closed for nearly 10 years so this announcement is just another piece of the puzzle that keeps rural Saskatchewan moving forward and expanding. Solar Garden Restaurant available for lease...
Although the Solar Garden Restaurant is under new management, we are still looking for the right individual (s) to lease the property and operate it as their own business. This is a very exciting and novel opportunity to operate a beautifully designed and well-located restaurant, dining room, adjacent meeting rooms and gift shop located in Craik, SK, a progressive growing community. The Solar Garden is located in the Craik Eco-Centre, which is a wonderful facility that is a showcase for alternative building design and energy efficient technologies. We are soliciting proposals that attempt to incorporate the philosophy of the Craik Sustainable Living Project. Your ideas and business plans are welcome and all will be considered. Visit (www.craikecovillage.ca) for details in this area.
