Agricultural Update
Saskatchewan based grain company, Mobil Grain along with the Last Mountain Rail railway have begun to once again clean and ship grain out of Aylesbury! Since purchasing the rail line between Lumsden and Davidson from CN Rail, Last Mountain Rail has developed a number of shipping points along the line which have given local producers a viable option for shipping their products to markets around the world and Aylesbury is now part of that plan. This is very exciting news for our community and for our local producers as well. Aylesbury was built and thrived as an agricultural community and this new development allows us to hold on to our past while looking to a bright future for Aylesbury!
P&H Elevator photos
We've posted some pictures of the historic P&H Elevator in Aylesbury on its final day as it was being demolished. It was October of 2009 when the elevator came down and was captured in these pictures by Aylesbury resident Doris Florness. Visit the Photo Gallery to view pictures.
Aylesbury, SK Canada

About Us
The Village of Aylesbury has a rich and storied past dating back well over 100 years! In 1910 it was incorporated as a town and was just another one of hundreds of bustling, growing communities in Saskatchewan. As it was then and continues to be now Aylesbury's local economy is largely based around the agricultural industry.
Presently there are about 45 residents in the village itself and approximately another 50-75 people who call Aylesbury "their town" but live in the rural surrounding area. As with many smaller Saskatchewan communities time has taken its toll on the population and business opportunities in the village; But that hasn't taken away from the community spirit that is as strong now as it was in the past for the remaining residents of Aylesbury. The community hall is a busy place hosting events year 'round from tea parties to dances. The Aylesbury Hotel has been a mainstay in the village for many years, while the "Elephant Lounge" is a great place to meet with friends for coffee or a cold beverage on a hot summer day.
In 2010 we will be celebrating the100th anniversary of our incorporation as a town and we are extremely excited about the year. We are planning many events and are looking forward to inviting back as many former residents as possible to help us celebrate the big occasion. As we arrive closer to 2010 we will keep you informed on all the activities that will be happening so be sure to check back over the coming months for details.
Click on the "Calendar of Events" tab at the top of the page to find out what's happening in our community and entire Craik/Aylesbury district.
