The Craik Eco-Village
It's hard to believe that in this day and age of urban sprawl and rural out-migration you could find a brand new community sprouting up on the open prairie in rural Saskatchewan; But that is exactly what is happening just a short drive east of Craik.
Since the community of Craik adopted an environmental and sustainability attitude, something very exciting has begun to happen. It was an idea to bring new and like-minded residents to the community that was the driving force behind the "Craik Eco-Village" and bring them it has! There has been a tremendous amount of interest in living an environmentally friendly lifestyle and that interest has drawn people from around the world to Craik and it's brand new "Eco-Village."

Besides a number of individual housing units already
built or under construction, there is a brand new school house that has been built called
"The Praxis International Institute," that has already begun bringing students from Japan and around the world to Craik to learn about the environment, sustainability, the English language and our lifestyle. In 2010 the school hosted a number of exchange students from Japan who came to our community to expand their knowledge. They had a great experience and interacted with local students to the benefit of everyone. The school is on target to host approximately 300 student over the next few years. And all in Craik, Saskatchewan!
Informative and Interesting
The Craik Eco-Village was conceived as a joint venture between the Town of Craik and R.M. of Craik No. 222. The two parties worked closely together to make the Eco-village a reality. The land just north east of Craik was donated by the R.M. and lots are available for a small fee. Roads were built, trees were planted and a community has grown in an ecologically friendly design.
