Summer 2010, Craik and District
Summer is finally here, sort of. Despite all the rain we've had the 2010 summer season has arrived bringing with it an array of activities and events to the Craik/Aylesbury area.
The Craik and District
Regional Park has opened the gates for the season and is ready to
host you and your family to a wonderful camping experience. The swimming
pool will also open very soon and will once again be offering swimming
lessons to kids of all ages. The canteen, ball diamond, play area,
picnic benches and of course green grass and sunshine all will ensure
you have a great stay at the park. See the "Recreation" page on the site
for more details.
The community of Aylesbury will be hosting their 100th anniversary celebration this summer as well. On the weekend of July 30 to August 1 Aylesbury is welcoming back every and anyone who has called it home at some point over the past 100 years. It's going to be a busy weekend full of fun and visiting old friends. A pancake breakfast, ball tournament, tea party and a live music caberet are just a few of the activities planned for the weekend. Check out the Aylesbury page on the site for more details.
The greens are soft and the fairways are wide and inviting at the Craik Golf Club and the 2010 season is well underway. The prairie/valley layout is in great condition despite all the rain that has fallen on the course and it's ready to test your golf skills to a fun, yet challenging 9 holes. There is something for everyone at the golf club this summer with men's, ladies and youth nights, men's and ladies open tournaments, corporate events or just you and your friends. For more details see the golf club page on the site.
Of course our Eco-Centre restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Book you corporate meetings, have a birthday party, tour the facility or just come and enjoy the atmosphere. It's a summertime hub of activity and a beautiful, peaceful place to spend a bit of your summer time! Again, for more details check out the Eco-Centre page of the site.
The farmer's market is on again for the summer in downtown Craik. It runs each Friday until the fall. There is a tremendous amount of excitement in the Craik community as we look at the past few years and forward to 2009, and beyond! Our community is neatly situated along Louis Riel Trail (Highway 11) roughly half way between Regina and Saskatoon and is only a 40 minute drive from Moose Jaw making it easily accessible to all 3 major centres.
