The Craik Community-Mid-Lakes Region was one of two Saskatchewan areas chosen by the Government of Canada to help initiate the One-Tonne Challenge. This initiative took place between October 1, 2004 and March 31, 2006.

The One-Tonne Challenge program has come to a close, but this website will stay active as a reminder of some of what can be done to help reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

The Mid-Lakes Region extends from Craik east to Long Lake and west to Lake Diefenbaker.
