"Town of
Craik"
Town of Craik
Craik is a vibrant, progressive and friendly “small town” community located in the heart of the prairie grain belt in south central Saskatchewan. It was agriculture that brought settlers to the area in the early 1900’s and Craik was incorporated as a town on August 1,1907, well over 100 years ago!
Agriculture remains the driving force to
the town’s economy but other
industries are contributing as well to
maintain a strong economic base.
Over the past 10 years Craik has grown in
population after many years of declining numbers making it an exciting
place to live, work and raise a family. In 2010 alone there were 5 new
housing starts, a sign that the economy is moving forward and more
people are making Craik their home!
The Craik and District Eco-Centre has
brought great interest and notoriety to the community from all around
the world. It utilizes the newest and most innovative principle of
ecology and sustainability to lessen the “footprint” we have on our
environment. With a beautiful 9 hole golf course located on the property
and the Craik Regional Park nearby, it’s become a wonderful place to
spend some some quality time with friends and family.
An hours drive from Regina or an hour and
a half from Saskatoon along Highway 11 will find you in Craik, SK. Stop
in and enjoy our local hospitality. We’d love to have you!

Tree Chipping
The Town of Craik offers a tree branch
chipping program which is available to all residents of Craik. The
program generally runs through the summer months starting around May 1st
and ending around September 30th, depending on the weather each year.
For the most part chipping will be done
each week on Tuesday, but some exceptions may occur over the summer.
Please be patient, there is usually a long list of people waiting!
Things to remember about our town
chipping program:
>Please cut or break the "Y"s out of the branches so that they fit smoothly into
the chipper.
>We can only handle branches that are "4" inches or less in diameter.
>Anything larger will have to be left for owner to dispose of.
>Please have all the branches laying in the same general direction.
>Call the town office to get on the chipping list - 734-2250. Please be patient!
Thank you!
Town Recycling
Remember to drop off you used plastic containers, newspapers, cardboard and tin cans at the town shop. There a re large recycling bins outside the building on the south side. Please flatten your containers and cardboard as space is limited. (No Garbage Please!) Collected products are then compressed into large "bales" and shipped away for recycling. This program helps keep our community and environment clean. Please take advantage of it!
