Trails & Contacts

Existing & Potential Trails:

The map and legend herein shows existing and potential trail sites.  The trails around the Craik Regional Park are marked for both hiking, biking, and horse/wagon treks.  A canoe launch is also available.  From the Park staging area there are trails leading to the wetlands at the north end of the lake (a Wildlife Refuge), or alternatively to the Iskwao Valley and onward to Schollars farm.  Trails are being developed to tour the Iskwao and Papoose Valley from the Riecken and/or Schollar farms, and there are possibilities of trails from Schollar's place to the Qu'Appelle valley or to Sprattsville and on to the Elbow sandhills.

Trails End Guest Ranch, Aylesbury, have several trails developed along the Arm River, one of which connects to the Craik Regional Park.  Bob Doig of Chamberlain also has Arm River trails under development.

Trail Staging areas have been discovered along the Qu'Appelle valley that will allow trails to be developed at the west end of Buffalo Pound Lake, along Eyebrow Lake, around the Qu'Appelle Dam, and onward to the Elbow Sand Hills.  These sites are already Wildlife Refuges and Birding Trails.

Trails will be developed as 1/2 day or whole day lengths, and eventually they may become linked to allow 2 or 3 day trips from Craik to Elbow.
